These hand-colored British Wild Flower prints are from a series illustrated by John
Sowerby (1825-1879), grandson of one of the masters of English Botanical
illustration in the late 1700s to early 1800s - James Sowerby. John's uncle,
George, was a noted natural history artist whose focus was conchology. Our Web site
also features prints by both James Sowerby and George Sowerby.
Each print is provided with the original page of
text that identifies the wildflowers by both their English and Latin names.
