Background:

The Tree prints shown here are from drawings by Anne Pratt (1806-1893), one of the most successful women botanical illustrators of the 1800s.  They were part of her five volume work The Flowering Plants, Grasses, Sedges and Ferns of Great Britain.  Her published works were readily accepted by the general public both for the accurate descriptions of the plants featured, as well as the fine quality of the botanical illustrations.   Pratt received her love of plants and flowers from her mother, an avid gardener.
