Background:

The engraved Italian landscape prints shown here feature views of Sicily.  They were part of an 1841 folio published in Barcelona titled La Italia Pintoresca (Picturesque Italy).

Travel folios such as this were very popular in the days before photography became readily available.  The engravings typically featured scenes the traveler would see when visiting a country, either as a memento of ones' visit or what one could expect to see during a visit

All prints are conservation matted and ready to be framed.
