Background:

These charming prints are from the First Edition of this series of children's poems by Robert Louis Stevenson that feature illustrations by the Dutch artist Willebeek Le Mair (1889-1966), one of the most notable children's artists of the early 1900s.

Born in Holland, Le Mair published her first book at the age of 15 and illustrated fourteen books during her career.  Her beautiful watercolors show children in settings which capture the spirit of childhood.

In addition to these prints, we also feature a series of Dutch Nursery Rhyme prints based on illustrations by Le Mair.
