Background:
These prints are from an early 1900s English guide to Trout Fishing. As the preface
stated, the guide was "designed for the convenience of the many anglers who, amid the
pressure of practical affairs, naturally find it difficult to remember the relations of
the lures to the months of the season". Each print portrays both Stream and
Lake Flies appropriate for each month during the Trout fishing season. The
accompanying text page provided with the print identifies each of the Flies by name.
