Background:
These prints of Songbirds are based on illustrations by Anne Pratt (1806-1893). The
subject of this series is a departure for Pratt who is know as one of the most successful
women botanical illustrators of the 1800s. Pratt received her love of plants (and
nature in general) from her mother, an avid gardener.
