Background:

These beautiful prints are from the rare First (and only) edition of Leon Rolland's Atlas des Champignons (Atlas of Mushrooms).  Published in 1910 and featuring illustrations by A. Bessin, the folio presented over 200 species of edible and poisonous mushrooms native to France, Switzerland and Belgium.  The mushrooms are identified on the prints by both their French and Latin names.
