Background:
These whimsical prints are from an early edition of Beatrix Potter's Tale of Miss
Moppet, originally published in 1906. It tells the story how a cat named Miss
Moppet trys to trick a taunting mouse by wrapping her head in a dusting cloth, pretending
to be ill. Peeking out of a hole in the duster she catches him, and ties him up in
the cloth. However, the mouse has the last laugh - he escapes through the hole in
the duster and dances a triumphant jig on top of the cupboard!
